2018 - 2019 Paraeducator of the Year
Jacklyn Kirchmeier, a paraprofessional colleague at A. Ward Spaulding Elementary School, has been named the 2019 Suffield Paraeducator of the Year.
Suffield’s Paraprofessional of the Year, Jacklyn “Jackie” Kirchmeier, is truly a gifted and remarkable person, one who makes a difference in the lives of so many children. Jackie is a paraeducator at A. Ward Spaulding Elementary School, and while she works primarily with students with complex learning profiles, she steps in and supports any student in need. Jackie exemplifies all of the characteristics and skills needed to be an outstanding paraprofessional.
Jackie is a leader as well as an ongoing learner. She takes charge when needed, advocating for her students based on her insights and observations. She routinely supports her colleagues and their students, sharing her knowledge, and helping to problem solve. Jackie’s focus is always on what is best for the students. With that end in mind, and recognizing that each child is an individual, she strives to learn and grow to better meet their needs. She’s not afraid to ask questions, her ultimate goal is for the learning environment to be safe, happy and student-centered.
Jackie Kirchmeier embodies the love, passion, patience, commitment and knowledge needed if one is to have a powerful and positive impact on the lives of our most in need students. She helps create a joyful and loving environment, one where they can thrive.
