Ms. Kimmett Teacher of the Year
Award Represents District's Excellence
Ms. Ann Marie Kimmett has been named 2008 Teacher-of-the-Year for the Suffield Public Schools.
This well-deserved honor goes to a faculty member who has been at the school for 8 years but is no stranger to Suffield High School. That's because she also graduated from Suffield High School as a teenager. Interestingly, SHS has a high percentage of faculty members who are alumni.
Ms. Kimmett leads our Math Department as the Math Curriculum Chair. She helps the department make curriculum decisions, participates in the hiring process, and manages the department's budget when she is not teaching classes.
Ms. Kimmett has taught most courses offered by the department and has taught two different AP Calculus courses, one worth 3 college credits and the other worth 6 college credits. Her students are always well-prepared for the annual AP exams, and the scores prove it.
Although this is the first time Ms. Kimmett has been honored as the district's Teacher-of-the-Year, she has been the Students' Choice for Teacher-of-the-Year at the high school twice in recent years.
We are proud that one of our teachers has been identified to represent all that is good in the classrooms of the Suffield Public Schools.
Congratulations, Ms. Kimmett!
