The A-Team will be starting up soon and we are looking for student members. This group assists the administration in identifying and addressing issues of concern to the student body. Applications are available in the main office and the application due date is September 24th .

The Academic Quiz Team will be practicing on Monday from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. in Ms. DeAngelis's room. Please notify her by then if you plan on attending the Yale tournament on September 27th. We will meet again briefly on Thursday to review rosters, trip and tournament procedures. If you are still interested in participating in the tournament but cannot come to practice, please see Ms. DeAngelis ASAP to let her know.

The Suffield Agriscience program is running doggy grooming and training days every Thursday and Friday starting on September 25. Seniors: Need help with your Common App? Counselors will be in the Commons to help any senior with Common App questions during Period 7 next week. Bring your questions, your Chromebook and your login/password info with you! Seniors without a P7 Study Hall can see their counselor for Common App assistance by appointment before or after school or during another study hall.

The PSAT (practice SAT) will be administered here on Wednesday, October 15th during periods 1 & 3. Sophomores are encouraged to take the test to gain valuable experience with standardized college admissions testing and must register in the Guidance Office. Cost is $14 (check payable to SHS) and registration is on a space available basis, so interested sophomores should register quickly. See your counselor today if you have questions.

Students who qualify for extended time or other testing accommodations on the PSAT, SAT, AP or ACT exams are reminded that they must file the proper forms with the College Board or ACT well in advance of these tests. If questions please see your counselor or case manager immediately.

A reminder to senior guys that you are required by law to register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Failure to register can make you ineligible for federal financial aid. Students can register online at www.sss.gov or at their local post office.

Seniors with at least a B average who participate in at least one school sport are encouraged to apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award. Any eligible senior can apply at wendysheisman.com and completed applications must be submitted by October 3rd. See your counselor with questions.
